What this site knows about you

Close to nothing, and this page says exactly what that nothing consists of. It is a portfolio: a few pages of HTML, one number in the footer, and no interest whatsoever in who is reading.

the short version

Three things worth knowing first

No accounts

There is nothing to sign into and no form to fill in. The site keeps no record of anyone who reads it.

No trackers, no ads

No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts. The fonts are served from this domain, so nothing is fetched from a font network either.

No cookies

The site sets none at all. Two small entries are kept in your own browser, and neither of them leaves it.

in detail

Everything the site actually does

Six short sections. Each one describes something the code does, so any of it can be checked against the site itself.

What your browser keeps

Two entries in your browser’s own storage, both written by the site and read by nothing else.

  • theme remembers whether you chose the light or the dark version, so the next page does not arrive in the wrong one.
  • visitor is a single 1, written the first time you arrive, so the number in the footer counts you once instead of once per page.
  • Neither is an identifier. Nothing is stored that could tell one browser from another, and neither value is ever sent to a server.

The number in the footer

The one thing this site records — and it is a fact about the site, not about you.

  • It is a single whole number held in one Cloud Firestore document. No address, no identifier and no timestamp is stored beside it.
  • Your first visit adds one to it, on the server. Every visit after that only reads it.
  • The security rules allow exactly that and nothing else: this one document cannot be listed, lowered, deleted or given any other field. They are in the repository, in firestore.rules.

Hosting and server logs

The site is a folder of static files on Firebase Hosting, which is Google. Serving a page means a request, and a request is logged.

  • A log line holds an IP address, a browser user-agent string, a time and the address asked for. It is what keeps the service running and protects it from abuse.
  • I do not read those logs to build a picture of anyone, and nothing in them is joined to anything else, sold or handed on.
  • The site is served over HTTPS, so what passes between your browser and it is encrypted in transit.

When you get in touch

Email, phone and WhatsApp are the only ways to send me anything. There is no form on this site, so nothing reaches me unless you choose to send it.

  • I receive what you send: your address or number, your name if you give it, and the message itself.
  • It is used to reply to you and to do the work we discuss. It is never sold, never shared and never added to any mailing list.
  • I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to the work, and delete it whenever you ask.

Links that leave the site

The App Store, Google Play, WhatsApp and Google Maps buttons hand you to companies I do not run.

  • Nothing about you is attached to the click. Your browser sends those sites what it sends any site it visits.
  • From the moment you arrive there, their privacy policy applies and this one does not.

What you can do about it

A small surface needs only small controls — most of them are already in your browser.

  • Clear this site’s data, or read it in a private window, and both stored entries are gone.
  • Block the counter with an extension, or switch JavaScript off entirely, and the site still works — the footer simply shows no number.
  • Ask me what I hold about you, ask for it corrected, or ask for it deleted. An email is enough: there is no account to verify you against, because there are no accounts.

questions, or a correction

Ask me directly

If anything here is unclear, or you want something you sent me removed, email is the fastest way. If the site ever starts doing something new, this page is updated first and the date at the top moves with it.
